Then, cut out a thin black strip of paper and glue it in the center of the circle, covering where the red and white tissue papers meet. Glue the tissue in place on the back of the foam board. To create the look of a Poke Ball, cut out pieces of red and white tissue paper to cover the circle (as shown in the photo above). Apply a line of hot glue at each seam, where the squares come together, until you have formed a box with only the top remaining open. It’s time to hot glue the remaining 5 squares together to make the box. Then, using an xacto knife, carefully cut out the circle. I used a large bowl as a guide to make the circle. Next, trace a large circle on one of the 6 boards. You will need 6 squares for each box, so each board made one complete punch box. The foam board I used was 20×30 inches so I was able to cut each board into 6 exact squares. Start by cutting the black foam boards into 10 inch X 10 inch squares. To get started you will need, black foam board, red & white tissue paper, black & white paper, hot glue gun and glue sticks, and the prizes or treats you’d like to include inside the box. Once they’re done your pieces will be flat and have shrunk 2-3 times their size making them perfect for a pin! Your pieces will curl up during the baking process, so it’s really fun to watch if you have a window in your oven. Preheat your oven to 350 and lay your finished designs out on a sheet of parchment paper (under a baking pan of course) and bake for 3 minutes or until flat. You can go back over them with your sharpie once the paint has dried. If you accidentally paint over some of your black lines, that’s cool. If you don’t do this your paint forms a weird clumpy chalky blob thing and no respectable Pokémon trainer wants that. Water down your paint in a 1:1 ratio and paint each. Cut each design out into the shape you want it to shrink down to.
